FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V developed and powered by The purpose of FiveM is to allow GTAV players to play with other players on customized dedicated servers. It is the original community-driven and source-available GTAV multiplayer modification project.


FiveM was built upon years of development on the framework, which has existed in various forms since 2014.


Some of the features of FiveM include:

  • Streaming: FiveM allows servers to use custom cars, maps, weapons, and more dynamically.
  • AI: FiveM allows servers to keep the original game AI.
  • Sync quality: FiveM uses Rockstar's network code with improvements.
  • Standalone: FiveM doesn't modify the GTA V installation, so the player can switch between GTA:O and FiveM without getting banned.
